1. Introduction and Acceptance
Engage Intelligently is the provider of the website, quiz, reports, and ENGAGEBASE services described in these Terms. If you use our website, request a report, create an account, or access ENGAGEBASE, you are agreeing to use those services on the basis set out here.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the site or services.
2. Description of Services
Our services include several distinct elements:
- Website and content: public-facing information about Engage Intelligently, our approach, products, and services.
- Study readiness quiz and reports: short-form diagnostic tools and follow-up reports that provide structured interpretation of user responses.
- ENGAGEBASE platform: an evidence-based digital platform that helps users explore recruitment, retention, and representation strategies relevant to study context.
- Consultancy and training services: separate professional services, workshops, and advisory support that are provided under specific project scopes or written agreements.
Not all services are available at all times, and some features may be modified, added, or withdrawn as the product develops. ENGAGEBASE and related tools may be in active development and may change over time.
3. Important: Informational Use Only
ENGAGEBASE, the study readiness quiz, and any related report outputs are informational tools. They are based on published evidence, structured synthesis, and Engage Intelligently’s product methodology.
They do not constitute clinical, medical, legal, regulatory, statistical, funding, or other professional advice. They are not a substitute for professional judgment, ethics review, sponsor input, methodological expertise, or study team decision-making.
You remain responsible for how you interpret and use any outputs generated through the platform or quiz.
You should not rely on the platform or report outputs as the sole basis for any decision-making.
We do not guarantee:
- recruitment success
- retention outcomes
- participant representativeness
- study delivery performance
- grant, funding, or approval success
4. User Accounts
Some ENGAGEBASE features require an account. If you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity taking place under your account. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate account access where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, unauthorised access, security risk, or breach of these Terms.
5. Licence to Use the Services
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the website, quiz outputs, reports, and ENGAGEBASE for your internal research, planning, and professional purposes.
You may use outputs and insights generated through the services in reasonable internal work, including:

- share paid or account-restricted outputs as a standalone commercial product
- copy, republish, or systematically reproduce the platform or its contents
- use the service, its outputs, or underlying structure to build, train, support, or inform any competing product, database, or service
- scrape, harvest, extract, or bulk-download data from the service
Access to certain features may be provided on a free, trial, or paid basis. We may change pricing, access conditions, or feature availability at our discretion.
6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the website, ENGAGEBASE, quiz framework, reports, platform structure, classification logic, methodology, content organisation, design, text, graphics, branding, and underlying materials remain owned by Engage Intelligently or our licensors.
This includes rights in the way evidence is selected, structured, presented, and translated into platform outputs.
Your use of the services does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you. Access is provided under licence only. Outputs made available through the service are licensed, not sold.
7. User Inputs and Data
You retain ownership of the information and materials you input into ENGAGEBASE or provide through the quiz, subject to any rights needed for us to operate the services.
By using the services, you permit us to process your inputs as needed to provide the service, generate outputs, maintain accounts, improve functionality, and support service administration.
As described in our Privacy Policy, we may also use inputs, usage patterns, and interaction data in anonymised and aggregated form to improve the platform, refine our services, and develop broader insights that do not identify you personally.
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the services, you agree that we may use these without restriction or obligation.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not misuse the website or services. In particular, you must not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source logic from the platform
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or automate extraction of platform data or outputs
- interfere with security, access controls, or service stability
- use the services in a way that is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or harmful

9. Consultancy and Training Services
Consultancy, workshops, training, and other advisory services are separate from the standard website, quiz, and ENGAGEBASE offering.
Where we provide consultancy or training, that work is normally governed by a separate written proposal, statement of work, contract, or engagement letter. If there is a conflict between those written terms and these Terms, the specific consultancy agreement will take priority for that project.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Engage Intelligently retains intellectual property in consultancy methods, frameworks, tools, and underlying materials, and the client receives a licence to use agreed outputs for its internal purposes.
Any transfer or assignment of intellectual property must be expressly agreed in writing.
10. Limitation of Liability
The website, quiz, reports, and ENGAGEBASE are provided as informational services. You are responsible for how you interpret and apply any outputs.
The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the services will meet your requirements or that outputs will be complete, accurate, or suitable for your specific use.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Engage Intelligently will not be liable for:
- indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss
- loss of funding, grant, or commercial opportunity
- recruitment shortfall, retention failure, or representativeness issues
- loss arising from reliance on platform outputs or report content as if they were professional advice
- loss of data, goodwill, revenue, or anticipated savings
Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the digital services will not exceed the fees you paid to us for the relevant service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 if no fee was paid.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
11. Availability and Access
We aim to keep the website and ENGAGEBASE available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available access.
We may update, suspend, withdraw, or change features, content, or service availability where reasonably necessary for maintenance, development, security, legal compliance, or product evolution.
12. Termination
You may stop using the website and services at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these Terms, misuse the service, create legal or security risk, or where continued access is no longer commercially or operationally viable.
